Theresa BloomShare her insight on White Lake
We’ve only gone once, but we’ve been won over by White Lake and finally understand why people just love it. We will be back!
"Though I had hoped to go to White Lake as a teenager, my family and I finally made it up to camp for our first time last year. Every one of us loved it! The people warmly welcomed us, the setting is remote and beautiful, and everything about the camp was casual and comfortable and made us feel right at home. Though we’ve heard about it for years, we really enjoyed getting a feel for the traditions there and the rich history of friendships, teaching, and fun times of that simple and delightful place. And, well, some things stuck out for us:
White Lake is the only place where ...
You can be covered in mud and soap at the same time. Are you clean or dirty? After going down the water slide, you just don't know!
You have a keen and constant awareness of the location of your snacks. Nobody wants to be bear bait! So, if possible, all snacks are secured in large metal containers ...known as cars.
Before coming, you might be wary of how “rustic” you’re told it is and what that might imply... only to be surprised by good lodging options, hot showers, and hearty meals prepared by cheerful cooks. It’s definitely CAMP, but not campING.
We’ve only gone once, but we’ve been won over by White Lake and finally understand why people just love it. We will be back!" - Theresa Bloom, missionary
