What is White Lake to You?

Updated: Jul 2, 2019

Jack Ramsey, a faithful White Laker

White Lake is a place for multiple ages to enjoy. From 1 year olds to 100 year olds, we fellowship with all ages.

The descriptive word that comes to mind is ‘sanctuary.’

"There is a place in Sullivan County, NY, that beckons me each summer. That place is White Lake Covenanter Camp. When asked why I do my best to return each year I was compelled to analyze the attraction. Here, for a week or two, you are welcomed, accepted, freed from the cares and chores of everyday life back home. The descriptive word that comes to mind is ‘sanctuary.’

"Here you can fellowship with friends, old and young, share concerns, receive counsel, discuss deep theological issues one on one or in groups, or just be edified by great teachers.

"Come, relax, mingle with wonderful people who will quickly become your friends. The experience will leave you refreshed, rejuvenated, confident that with God’s help you will be empowered to confront any issues you may face until next summer, when you get the chance to do it all over again."

Jack Ramsey passed away in June of 2019 -

"If you don't know already, I've moved on from this life. I passed away peacefully and quietly in the wee hours of the morning, June 6th 2019. I was 86 years old. If you have the chance to pay your last respects to my family, and hopefully see a few old friends, there will be calling hours from 11 to 1 followed by a memorial service at Pompey Community Church, 2555 Berwyn Rd in Lafayette NY, on July 6th 2019. I don't know if there will be fireworks. I'm sure KJ and Bill will have something to munch on at the following reception. Instead of flowers, they've decided to ask that you make donations to either Mercy House in Endicott NY, (where I was very well taken care of my last few days), or to White Lake camp (my home away from home, and family away from family). Please do your best to make this a celebration of my life, instead of a sad and dreary affair. Remember my smile, share your stories, and I hope that you take whatever I've left with you, and pass it on to others. I am with my Lord and Savior now, it doesn't get any better than this. Be kind and love one another, be the best that you can be, and live your life to glorify God."
